When it is unclear, I can cut the smaller things first. If I add just a bit more, I will regret it less. If the rules are too strict, the day gets boring. With these conditions, even going over budget makes sense.

Today, I can spend a little on myself. It is not a big spend, so it is fine. If I am doing this, I should choose something that lasts. If I get it now, next-time me will be grateful.
